Proposed Federal Parental Rights Amendment
Nov 26th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | 2 comments »Please note that the original language of House Joint Resolution 97 has been reintroduced into the 111th (2009-2010) session of the United States Congress as House Joint Resolution 42. We have a ton of work to do and our other legislative activities build upon this single issue. After all, parental rights should be respected and protected by all.

On June 26, 2008, US Congressman Pete Hoekstra introduced H.J.Res.97, the Parental Rights Constitutional Amendment, which would protect parents’ rights to raise their children from unnecessary government intrusion. In 2009 the exact same measure was introduced under House Joint Resolution 42 with significantly more sponsors! The amendment would allow for government intervention in instances of child abuse or neglect and would protect parental rights from the overreach of domestic and international law.
